Share your Art

Share Your Art
#MEAction recognizes the important role art plays within the ME community and activism as a whole. Over the years, we have had the privilege of witnessing many of this community’s amazing artists work either when it has been shared online, featured at protests, or performed for calls and events.

So on Monday, May 10th, let’s flood the internet from our homes with our art, visuals, music, writings, or anything you feel called to share.

To prepare people for #MillionsMissing, share your art. It does not have to be professional. It can just come from you. Sing a song, post your visual art, share a song already recorded, share a poem or your writing. The sky’s the limit! The point of this is to build our COMMUNITY and gain ATTENTION.

If you need inspiration, check out art from Bedfest, which many of you participated in.

For sharing on social media, here is an example post:

“I am a person with ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). I’m sharing my art to raise awareness for the #MillionsMissing from ME, other chronic illnesses and disabilities. Especially during COVID-19, please remember that many of us have been social-distancing for years and years. @MEActNet”

And as always, feel free to write your own post, just use #MillionsMissing and tag @MEActNet.

A Collection of Art Pieces for the ME Community

Artist Salon
As a way to celebrate and highlight the amazing artists within our community, please join us for a live on Monday, May 10th at 12pm PST/3pm EST for our first #MillionsMissing Virtual Artist Salon featuring artists and their work. This will be a fun gathering where artists will share their work and the inspiration for their pieces, plus the role art plays in their lives.

If you are an artist and are interested in sharing your work during the salon, please fill out this form. We will be doing an “open mic” portion of the event, where we will call people from the list to share about their work for about 3-5 minutes. Depending on the response we may not be able to get to everyone, but we hope to have time to get to quite a few people!
